Round-table meetings
|
On Thursday 19 June 2008 the IASC Foundation held public round-table meetings in London.
The round tables were organised to seek additional views from stakeholders on the Trustees’ initial thinking regarding the creation of a Monitoring Group and the size and the composition of the IASB.
Comments received will be considered at the next Trustees meeting that will take place on the 8 and 9 July 2008 in Washington, DC.
Depending on the extent of amendments to be made to the initial draft proposals [PDF], and assuming that the Trustees are satisfied with the consultation document, publication of the official consultation document is expected soon after the Trustees meeting.
At the round-tables, 30 representatives of leading international organisations, NGOs, financial organisation and representative groups, including securities regulators, preparers, users and major auditing and banking institutions, discussed the two topics in four separate sessions with the Trustees. A PDF list of participants can be viewed here. |
