The Trustees of the IASC Foundation today announced the conclusions reached at their meeting in Washington, DC on 8 and 9 July. The main focus of the meeting was the Trustees’ consideration of their draft proposals reflecting the first part of their review of the IASC Foundation’s Constitution.

IFRIC issues guidance on hedges of a net investment in a foreign operation

The IFRIC issued today an Interpretation, IFRIC 16 Hedges of a Net Investment in a Foreign Operation. The IFRIC was asked for guidance on accounting for the hedge of a net investment in a foreign operation in an entity’s consolidated financial statements.

IFRIC issues clarification on agreements for the construction of real estate

The IFRIC issued today an Interpretation, IFRIC 15 Agreements for the Construction of Real Estate. The Interpretation will standardise accounting practice across jurisdictions for the recognition of revenue among real estate developers for sales of units, ‘off plan’, ie before construction is complete.

IASC Foundation publishes IFRS Taxonomy 2008

The IASC Foundation today announced the release of the IFRS Taxonomy 2008. The IFRS Taxonomy 2008 is a complete translation of IFRSs as published in the IFRS Bound Volume 2008 into XBRL, an eXtensible Markup Language used to communicate information between businesses.
