IFRS-XBRL Summary of the Last 2 Months

It has been quite some time since we last issued a summary of our activities. A lot has happened in the last 2 months. The following provides a brief update of activities of the IASC Foundation XBRL Team.
General
Postings to our website included:
- Welcoming 2 new interns, Daniel Gloeckner and Haiko Philipp.
- Farewelling Harald Schmitt who has left the team to join German company ABZ-Informatik GmbH, a developer of XML processing software within dedicated system architectures. (more…)

Taxonomy:
- The IFRS-GP 2006 final version was released on a revised web platform. See http://xbrl.iasb.org/int/fr/ifrs/gp/2006-08-15/summary_page.html. The IASC Foundation XBRL Team commenced work on Phase II of the IFRS-GP Taxonomy Improvements Project prototype work, focusing its first project on enhancing the references section of the taxonomy. - The IFRS Taxonomy Development Team began work on the 2007 version of the IFRS-GP (This has included a number of minor bug fixes and repair of presentation/calculation linkbase inconsistencies.)
- The IFRS Taxonomy Development Team commenced work on architecture considerations for the IFRS SME taxonomy.
- The XBRL Team worked with the Australian jurisdiction in the release of their draft Australian IFRS and Australian Stock Exchange extension taxonomies. (more…)
- The French translation of the IFRS-GP Labels (2005) and 2006 is complete and is currently undergoing review by the French and Belgium jurisdictions.
- The Portuguese jurisdiction is updating their translation for the 2006 changed labels.
- The Dutch 2005 labels have been released in draft and are currently undergoing review by the Belgium jurisdiction. (more…)
- Work has begun on Polish, Arabic and Hungarian IFRS-GP taxonomy labels.
Projects:
- The IASC Foundation XBRL Team completed instance creation work on the European Committee of Central Balance Sheet Data Offices (ECCBSO) Working Group III phase 2 XBRL project. This is a project to collect the data of a sample of IFRS companies in Europe in XBRL and IFRS. To date it has created 150 real cases and produced instances. To see the results of lasts year’s phase 1 proof of concept project, click here. Phase II of this project will be released in Philadelphia next month.
- The IASC Foundation XBRL Team continued work on prototyping architectures for the pending release of the IASB’s IFRS SME standard. (more…)
Meeting and Presentations Attended by Team Members:
- The XBRL Team hosted the IASB IT Discussion Group Meeting in London
- Josef Macdonald participated in the most recent ECCBSO Working Group III meeting in Belgium
- Josef Macdonald participated in the ECCBSO Full Committee Meeting in Lisbon and presented phase II of the joint Working Group III and IASC Foundation XBRL Project.
- Maciej Piechocki participated in the XBRL Germany Domain Working Group meeting – working on German GAAP taxonomy and discussing XBRL implementation projects in Germany (as well as presenting FRTA validation results for the German GAAP taxonomy).
- Maciej Piechocki participated in XBRL Germany General Assembly meeting where he presented XBRL academic activities in Germany.
- Kurt Ramin presented at this year's Chief Financial Officer Summit in London (more…)
- In Beijing, Kurt Ramin met with China Securities Regulatory Commission, the China Securities Depository Corp and gave a speech at China Standards Meeting
- In Shangai, Kurt Ramin met with the stock exchange and gave presentation to them (more…) He also met with Shanghai Futures Exchange. Kurt was interviewed by Modern Bankers Magazine (more…) and China Securities Journal.
- In Singapore, Kurt Ramin met with ACRA: Accounting and & Corporate Regulatory Authority (more…) Kurt attended the Asia Financial Information Summit (more…) and gave a speech at Ngee Ann Polytechnic University. He also met with top Asian management of Oracle and Microsoft.
- Kurt Ramin presented at the Standards eXchange seminar organised to mark the 40th Anniversary of Singapore’s Standardisation Programme (more…)
