Vacancy: XBRL Team Leader - International Accounting Standards Committee Foundation

The International Accounting Standards Committee (IASC) Foundation is the private sector independent body responsible for the development and promulgation of a single set of high quality international accounting standards.
The IASC Foundation is seeking to appoint an eXtensible Business Reporting Language (XBRL) Team Leader.
The Team Leader will work with the IASC Foundation Trustees’ XBRL Sub-committee in developing a formal approach for fulfilling the Foundation’s responsibilities to XBRL taxonomy development using a collaborative participation model. This includes ensuring financing and human resources for all XBRL related activities; establishing formal oversight processes and procedures; recommending appointments to new committees; and general duties relating to XBRL activities, including consideration of the committee agendas and work programs.
The Team Leader will establish working relationships with IFRS XBRL users, and encourage good relations with other public and private organisations. The purpose is to encourage IFRS and XBRL implementation and adoption within the market, as well as enable the IASB to facilitate the use and understanding of the technology through collaboration with the public, issuers, auditors, and financial information users. The Team Leader will also make public appearances on behalf of the organisation.
Those interested in serving should have experience at the highest levels of public service as well as a strong relationship with the business community. Candidates should demonstrate a firm commitment to the objectives of the IASC Foundation and the IASB and be knowledgeable of the financial reporting environment.
The Team Leader should have an understanding of, and be sensitive to, the challenges associated with the adoption and application of high quality global accounting standards developed for use in the world’s capital markets and by other users.
Successful applicants will be expected to reside in London, where the IASC Foundation is located.
