IFRS-GP 2006 Taxonomy Acknowledged

31 January 2007

The IASC Foundation XBRL Team is pleased to announce that the XBRL Standards Board (XSB) of XBRL International acknowledged the IFRS-GP (2006) taxonomy on Wednesday 24 January.

To view and/or download the taxonomy, see: http://xbrl.iasb.org/int/fr/ifrs/gp/2006-08-15/summary_page.html

The taxonomy was submitted to the XSB on 4 September 2006.

As with previous version of the IFRS-GP, the IASC Foundation will not be seeking Approval of this taxonomy.

2007 Drafts

The IASC Foundation has released iterative drafts of the IFRS-GP (2007), staged on our IFRS Taxonomy Versioning Ladder.

 See: http://www.iasb.org/xbrl/taxonomies/taxonomy_ladder.html

Taxonomy Versioning Ladder

As announced at the XBRL International XBRL Conference last December in Philadelphia, it is the intention of our Taxonomy Development Team to regularly post versions of drafts of the IFRS-GP as changes and improvements are made. The Versioning Ladder provides a complete audit trail of changes made to the taxonomy and the reasons for those changes.  It uses as a base the IFRS differencing linkbase technology developed in our .

See: http://www.iasb.org/xbrl/news/2006_12_04_versioning.html

Ultimately, it will use our full IFRS taxonomy versioning mechanism, once this has been fully developed and tested.
