IFRS Taxonomy Architecture and Prototype

04 December 2007

labThe IASC Foundation XBRL Team is redeveloping the IFRS taxonomy to reflect the new versions of IFRSs and the new XBRL technologies. The announcement today is a first stage of public consultation on the new IFRS taxonomy. We are publishing the IFRS Taxonomy Architecture paper as well as an IFRS Taxonomy Prototype containing architectural decisions. Both documents are open for discussion.

The public consultation will last for six weeks and will help the IASC Foundation XBRL Team in developing firm proposals for an exposure draft to be published towards the end of February 2008.

Comments on the IFRS Taxonomy Architecture paper and on the IFRS Taxonomy Prototype should be sent by email (XBRL@iasb.org) not later than 11 January 2008.
